Yeast beta-glucan

  • Q What is Yeast Beta Glucan?

    A
Beta glucans are complex, high molecular mass (100-200 kDa) polysaccharides, found in the cell wall of many yeasts and cereals. The chemical name for ‘yeast beta glucans’ is (1-3),(1-6)-β-D-glucans.
This novel food is available both in an insoluble and soluble form, isolated from Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
  • Q What physiological functions does yeast beta glucan have and how does it work?

A Yeast beta-glucan is a good biological effect regulator (BRMs). A large number of animal and clinical trials have proved that yeast beta glucan has physiological functions such as enhancing immunity, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, anti-radiation, reducing blood lipids, and promoting wound healing. After being taken orally, yeast beta glucan enters the blood circulation through the intestinal lymphatic system. The surface of human macrophages (a non-specific immune cell that can quickly remove foreign antigens from the body) has specific yeast beta glucan receptors. After recognizing yeast beta glucan, it can quickly activate the activity of macrophages, and achieve the functions of rapidly enhancing immunity, anti-tumor, anti-radiation, anti-inflammatory, etc.
  • Q What are the application fields of yeast beta glucan?

    A

Yeast beta glucan can be used as a food ingredient in dairy products, meat products, baked foods, beverages, candy, and other common foods. It can also be used as a health food raw material to develop into a functional health food. In common foods, yeast beta glucan has the functions of thickening, moisturizing and improving taste due to its water-holding capacity. As yeast beta glucan has the function of anti-radiation and quick wound repair, it can also be used in cosmetics as an ingredient of facial masks, shower gels, hand cream, and other cosmetics, with whitening, quick repair of skin cells, moisturizing and other functions.

  • Q What types of health care products can yeast beta glucan be developed into, and how much is appropriate to take every day?

A Yeast beta glucan can be developed into capsules, oral liquids, tablets, and other healthy food. The daily intake of 200mg yeast glucan per person can play a role in rapidly enhancing immunity, anti-radiation, reducing blood lipids and so on.
  • Q Briefly introduce the basic production process of yeast beta glucan?

A It is refined after removing protein, fat, nucleic acid and other impurities in Saccharomyces cerevisiae by biotechnology
  • Q Which people are suitable for taking yeast beta glucan?

A Yeast beta glucan is suitable for middle-aged and elderly people with low immunity, patients with dyslipidemia, patients with frequent colds, tumor patients, and patients with tumor radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
